Over $6.25 billion in wasted medical supplies in the USA alone each year could be re-directed to organizations like the National Association of Free Clinics (NAFC).  Through Aidmatrix technology corporations can now donate products online with ease and clinics can take advantage of these valuable products.  For example, following Katrina, Aidmatrix and the NAFC mobilized over $2.5 million in medical supplies.

In addition, Aidmatrix is helping organizations like the NAFC to take advantage of bulk purchasing that could result in over $14 million savings on diabetic supplies alone.  Using Aidmatrix solutions, Free Clinics throughout the United States now are able to aggregate their buying power and negotiate better pricing.  Every dollar that is saved allows free clinics to help more people.

There are over 43 million Americans, that’s 15% of the population (SourceRobert Wood Johnson, 2004), without medical insurance and the number is on the rise.  The number rose 1.4 million over 2002 and over 5 million since 2000 (Source:  Kaiser Family Health Foundation, 2004).  In response to this problem, thousands of communities have developed Free Clinics, bringing together volunteer health care professionals and offering free or reduced cost health care.  They serve an estimated seven million of people and provide medicines and treatment that they could not afford otherwise.
