Relief agencies often receive donation offers of necessary products. However, often times the costs to transport those donations are so high that the agency has to decline the offer because they cannot afford the freight and shipping costs. Aidmatrix works with transportation providers around the world to make their donated and discounted services visible to relief agencies. Here are just a few of the programs available:
-
International Transportation Program – This program helps address the rising costs of transportation for humanitarian relief organizations. This web portal technology and supporting program infrastructure aims to match freight forwarders with the needs of INGOs. It creates an online community where specific transport needs can be packaged and published online for Logistics Service Providers (LSPs) to bid on; not only creating a targeted, high-turnaround marketplace, but harnessing and developing a network of trust relationships between multiple INGOs and multiple LSPs with a common interest in relief & development, and potentially leveraging opportunities for efficiencies, donations and discounts.
-
ISTAT AirLink – International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT) AirLink program provides a way for humanitarian organizations to make direct connections with airlines who can offer free, or low cost, air transport for cargo and passengers throughout the world and year round. Our partnership with AirLink centers around an Aidmatrix-created website which allows both humanitarian organizations and airlines to enter passenger transport & shipment requests and to donate passenger or cargo capacity. The website then matches humanitarian needs with transportation opportunities.
- National Transportation Network sponsored by United Parcel Service (UPS) – The National Transportation Network allows partners like UPS to move resources to nonprofits in need.
- Texas Transportation Network -- This program helps foodbanks receive offers of discounted or donated transportation. The program has saved the foodbanks the equivalent of 65,000 meals.
- Trucks for Change MoveMatrix Program -- The Trucks For Change Network, a nonprofit association of leading Canadian trucking firms helping community charities with donated transportation services, run the MOVEmatrix program, an online freight matching tool developed for the exclusive use of Trucks for Change's member trucking and charity partners. "Many trucking companies already generously support their communities," said Ontario Trucking Association president David Bradley. "Trucks For Change Network and its MOVEmatrix technology will help them to do so more efficiently and at a lower operating cost. It's a win-win situation." The MOVEmatrix program is powered by Aidmatrix.
